Electric vehicle (EV) infrastructurIndia is actively developing its electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure to support the growing adoption of EVs and reduce urban pollution. The government, along with various stakeholders, is implementing initiatives to establish a comprehensive and efficient EV ecosystem.

  • Policy Framework: The Government of India has set ambitious targets to electrify 70% of commercial vehicles, 30% of private cars, 40% of buses, and 80% of two- and three-wheelers by 2030. Achieving these goals necessitates the widespread deployment of charging stations across the country.

  • Central Nodal Agency: The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) has been designated as the central nodal agency for public charging infrastructure. BEE’s role includes facilitating the development of charging stations and ensuring the availability of adequate infrastructure to meet the increasing demand for EVs.
